Specialist Bespoke Joinery for Educational Interiors

WHY

Delivering robust, well-considered joinery solutions to support high-use educational environments.

Working with main contractor Beard and Design Engine architects Martek supplied and installed specialist bespoke joinery throughout the new Sixth Form building at Berkhamsted School. The project required durable, practical joinery designed to perform across a variety of teaching, social and support spaces, while maintaining a consistent and high-quality finish throughout the building.

Martek’s scope included purpose-made joinery to the social learning café, incorporating catering servery counters and display units, alongside fitted joinery to the forum space and associated breakout areas. Additional elements included integrated printer stations, full-height storage cupboards to classrooms, a bespoke recycling hub, sliding door systems and other associated joinery items. Each component was manufactured to suit its specific function, ensuring ease of use, longevity and seamless integration with the wider interior fit-out.

WHAT

Manufacture and installation of bespoke joinery across communal, teaching and support areas, including counters, storage, specialist fitted furniture and sliding door systems.
